PIPPIN, UCLA's Summer Camp and Best in Drag Show!
So much has been going
on. My apologies for not updating sooner.
PIPPIN in the midwest was an extraordinary experience. The cast and crew
were amazing. Thanks goes out to John at the Oster Regent Theater for
inviting me back home and to everyone who made it possible.
UCLA's Summer Camp was specatular as usual. The students kept me on my
toes and I think we all learned a great deal.
Best in Drag Show- the annual fundraiser for Aid For AIDS (aidforaids.net)
brought in over $360,000! Pictures to follow.
My time at AMDA was met with a bevy of talent and nice human beings to
boot! Love the students there. Thanks Barry and Jane.
November brings more challenging adventures. I am setting a piece on 15
dancers from the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts which
will be performed in February. I get to meet them very soon!
At the end of Janurary, I will hold auditions for GYPSY at Cypress
College. ALL ARE WELCOME! Come on, ROSE! The show opens in April '08. I
love this show. I got to play in 5 productions over the years with such
stars as Betty Buckley, Karen Morrow, and Terri Ralston. I am looking
forward to directing and choreographing this production.
Have a wonderful holiday season!!!
Best in Drag Show!, NAACP Theater Award and AMDA
Happy New Year!
Well, Best in Drag Show 4 was a great success, bringing in over
$250,000 for Aid For AIDS. Thank you to everyone involved. Go to aidforaids.net for more info
and to get a heads up for this years show in October.
I was just nominated
for choreography by the NAACP Theater Awards for The Bubbly Black
Girl... Congrats to Lindsey Gearhart, also nominated for Directing
and Fredericka Meek, for supporting actress!
I am teaching a few
Master Classes at AMDA in February before I head back to Cedar Falls,
Iowa, my hometown. I will be teaching class, having production meetings,
doing radio spots and newspaper interviews, and holding auditions for
the Oster Regent Theaters production of Pippin, opening June 1st.
I am so excited about directing and choreographing this production.
Hopefully, March and
April will bring Movement to Music back to Hollywood. Stay tuned.
Best in Drag Show!, Musical Theatre Camp and College Audition Workshop.
Welcome to the brand
new TomPardoe.com!
Currently I am
producing and directing Best in Drag Show, our annual fundraiser for Aid
For AIDS - a great organization. The show is October 22. We have seven
contestants, twelve dancing drag queens known as the Doberman Pincher and
over 50 people who volunteer their time and energy to make it a great
show.
Also, I am scheduled for Musical Theatre Camp and College Audition
Workshop for UCLA next summer.
I recently
choreographed Melinda Clarke (Julie Cooper) and Artem ("So You Think You
Can Dance" Season One) on an episode from The O.C.
And finally, I am choreographing two splashy numbers for the Hot n Dry
convention in Palm Springs in September; I'll be doing two master
classes in Theatre Dance for AMDA in Los Angeles; and I'll be directing
and choreographing Pippin in the Midwest in May 2007.
My Moving to Music class, which happens in Hollywood, will resume
shortly. Have a great summer, wherever you are.
